Is everybody forgetting the first RULE of railroading 101----"Expect a train in either direction, at any time, on any track" (Period, end of sentence). A passenger platform is one of the few "public" places (other than roadway crossings) where John and Jane Public--who are usually completely ignorant of the GCOR--come into close proximity with trains. Yes, maybe a sign that reads "WARNING - ACTIVE TRACKS" might be more appropriate, but this sign would need lots of footnotes to keep it from being a simple warning sign. That's all it is--a simple warning sigh--the type that is required for everything that we do or come in contact with due to this grossly messed-up Country being (literally) run by Lawyers. I guess the sign could further define "HIGH SPEED", "TRAINS", "PASS", and "STOPPING", but they would need a bigger board and people wouldn't take the time to read it all because they would lose interest. There are a LOT more blatant examples of "lies" by Governmental agencies that are much more sinister than this one. This one leaves open the opportunity to change a train schedule without hiring some high-priced Bureaucratic Employee to keep changing signs every few months. (Oops--wait a minute, that could be a "stimulus job" to "help the economy"----Now THERE'S a lie.)
Just my measly 2-cents.
