So who says!!!!

The current crop of unaccomplished high-speed advocates? - SO WHAT !

Some anonymous Frenchman? SO WHAT SQUARED !

Does someone have actual authority here? - NO !

If anyone thinks they have; who the hell appointed them? NO-ONE !

Actually, for most of the twentieth century, anything over boulevard speed got the warning sign posted on it here and there. The practice and the wording goes way back, though not consistently applied, at all. Now that definition seems to me, to be quite reasonable for an unfenced right of way.

At least some agencies are doing the best they can to prevent pedestrian accidents. Now, if it just wasn't for all those pesky passengers needin' to cross tracks to get to their trains. . . . . .
