One day in the latter 1970s, I caught one of the Emerville jobs off the extraboard and had the 1127. I noticed the whistle, and used it on the street running and on each grade crossing where the track cut diagonally up to Ashby Ave instead of the horn. At one crossing I noticed a couple of older guys up the street staring towards us. They were old enough to remember the red electrics.
