Thanks for the observations/info. Planning on taking a trip out that way in April.
Last I had heard there had been damage to one of the bridges on the Pilot Rock Branch sometime in early 2020 I want to say (cant remember exactly). I checked out the branch on a trip out that way back in November, and it looked like nothing had been run on it for a bit then. There were no cars at the Woodgrain Mill (ex Boise Cascade) in Pilot Rock. Hope this is not the case as this would be a really neat line to shoot, and one of very few UP branch lines left in Oregon.
Did Boise Cascade for sure end of closing the Elgin, OR Mill? There was talk of it late last year/early this year (cant remember). From what I recall the potential to close the mill mostly centered around treatment of mill wastewater and the permitting for it.
Best regards,
