Reimagine if Brightline was building the CAHSRA segment from Burbank to Palmdale?, and I am being too hard on Clem...

Being a little hard, and Commenter had the bit about liquifaction.
My biggest fear is that nothing has been learned, and now the Sou Cal people are (rightly in my opinion) trying to carve/claw away any future control of any additional funding (possibly necessary to backfill the "lost" LAUS funding, due to the bloated cost overruns on these monstrosities they are building in the Valley) from the Feds, that would be used for any portions in LA County, including this fiasco they are doing from Burbank to Palmdale....
And speaking of bloated costs, that is the Burbank Palmdale alignment that spends what looks like a marginal cost of over a billion dollars a minute for travel time savings for that ridiculous tunnel segment through a flood plain, below Hansen Dam, that no one wants. If Brightline was doing this segment, they would continue up San Feranado Road, to the 118, actually slow down, and make the curve into the ROW of the publicly owned SR 118 Freeway ROW, to the 219 interchange, and then go under Saugus peak to Lang, and save over 3 billion dollars in completely "gold plated" construction costs.
