Can CORP and its parent company assure the Oregon Transportation Commission it’ll be around day after tomorrow?
As an alternative, how about this: prevail upon the Federal Railroad Administration to modify the 2002 designated ten high-speed corridors under section 1010 of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Act of 1991 (ISTEA) and Section 1103(c) of the Transportation Efficiency Act for the 21st Century to extend south from Eugene which under the new 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act the state then could apply for grants, etc for high sped rail that starts at Roseburg running to Vancouver BC, with shops and other maintenance facilities located in Winchester!
Oh- one other item- find a grant to set up on site a railway museum for that Kirk fellow from Redding, CA who hungers for one so much. Seems nearby Sutherland, OR didn't buy into his museum proposal he put to the city council not too long ago.
