OH - OH - OH - I know. The diesels assigned to ex - Pacific Electric lines in Hollywood / West L.A. had " Trombone Horns ", on the early SW 's , and Dual Tone horns on the SW - 1500's. These approximated the horns on the old P.E. electrics, and were much quieter than regular diesel horns.
The Trombone Horns were in fact taken off the electrics for reuse. ( I am also a member of SPH&TS & receive the newsletter. )
Now, what about that rubber - tired trolley seen in " Who Framed Roger Rabbit " ??? Was that also an attempt to quiet things down ???
