As a preventive measure, the crew on a tourist pike could call out the switch position with a word like they do signals. “Diverging” or “red target”. “Green signal”. Etc.

It’s lousy that social media can be used by trolls and content creators to magnify an incident like this. It will end up in those crash compilation junk videos that are designed to gain clicks.
