It all comes back to the same question (and my resulting confusion, as well???), what was this doing at LAUPT, in the early fifties (very late forties?) with the S-12?
Would SP have deadheaded or run such junk on a passenger to LAUPT and then take it to the Shops deadline for scrapping?
All of the remaining "newest" (many oil converts from the EPSW...)
462's would have been based on the Penninsula for commutes by the early fifties, and 484's were used for Coast/Valley trains from most accounts I've heard...
