In 1962 my dad moved the family from Glendora to Westminster partially due to the smog in the San Gabriel Valley.
I've read reports stating that taking the Sulphur out of #2 Diesel fuel cleaned up 90% of the emissions issues. Also taking the lead out of Gasoline for cars.
