Can you find lots of coolio train pics on the internets? Yes.
Can you find train slide/video shows focused on one topic on the internets? Also sometimes yes.
Can you have a big in-person meetup of railfan friends old and new on the internets? Not so much.
I was able to catch up and say hi to several of my friends I haven't seen in 1 or 2 years. Even went railfanning for a couple days afterwards with one of them.

As far as shows go, this year was typical of most, but the highlight for me was the Last of the Loggers show about the end of logging on Vancouver Island. And they even got the dark music right, with "Heros for Ghosts" by The Gathering, a band that, despite my handle name, I had not heard of before, but they are on my favorites list now.
