My advice, just stay the hell away from all transit. Just stay away.

I ignore your advice and commute on the bus to and from work nearly* every day and sometimes use transit for other trip purposes. I've never encountered anything like what you've mentioned in your post.

*I said nearly, because for the first time in months I worked from home to tend to be on hand help out my girlfriend who is under the weather.
