Turn Signals on Trains?

Some of us used to joke about having turn signals on a caboose for the engineer in the train behind it.
Last night I was driving north on Long Beach Boulevard, in Long Beach, California, following a Blue Line train on street- and nearly-street running. Just north of Willow the tracks bend to the west, crossing the oncoming vehicular traffic. As the Blue Line train approached that area I noticed what I believe to be a left turn signal blinking on the last car. It continued through the left turn as the train entered a restricted right-of-way. Maybe the train just has blinking lights on both sides of the last car, and the right-hand one was burned out - I don't know.
Are there other instances of turn signals on trains?
Best regards to all.
