Based on the lighting & tree shadows, the photographer was standing ( in a boat??? ) South of the bridge, so the train was Westbound.
BTW, this bridge was quite popular with bungee jumpers, although one group made the mistake of securing their bungee to the LIVE Rail, instead of the guard rails or railings. When a train arrived unexpectedly ( duh ), several jumped clear, only to have the wheel flanges cut their bungees !!! Oh well, Darwin's Theory at work again... :-)
