I travel on Amtrak’s western LD trains 10-12 times per year. What Amtrak is doing with precautionary cancellations is logical and prudent. The is no sense in potentially stranding a trainload of unprepared Empire Builder (and, right now, Starlight) passengers and crew in a remote spot in dangerous conditions. Amtrak is far from the only transportation provider that is affected by weather.
