I remember a 4449 trip southbound down the Central Valley parallelled by a two lane highway. The pacers were of course following the locomotive in both lanes of the highway in a long motorcade. All of which is normal and to be expected. What made the scene memorable was the look on a farmer's face when he and his wife drove up to an intersection in their pickup, to be greeted by this double line of traffic careening past in both lanes at high speed.

Like Vic I will stay home.
