I worked for Amtrak at the 8th St. Coach Yard from 1990 to 1995. Train #36 left LA Union Station everyday with 2 Coaches full of people, mostly going to LV. When the Train arrived, both would empty and immediately fill up with people, mostly going to Salt Lake City. Today, if the Train still ran, you could easily fill up 4 or more Coaches like that!
Plus, I would rid3 again from LA to Portland via Salt Lake City!
