Imagine if Amtrak tried to replace its LD fleet with singular E70ACH locomotives today... Two Tier 0 (because God forbid how railroads have to comply with ANY environmental regulation!!) 710 prime movers in a classic, streamlined E-unit body shell...

One engine craps out, the entire train sits in the middle of Montana freezing its occupants inside in -20 degree cold (or the middle of Arizona in 130 degree heat) and once again the foamer brigade will be "Well those GE P42 locomotives didn't have those kind of problems, why did Amtrak make such a boneheaded decision buying crappy EMD power..."

Foamers can never be happy unless they get a Big Boy + 3751 + 4449 triple-header with a 100 car sleeper car consist where every room is free, with a four course gourmet meal, travelling at 120 MPH, but with frequent photo runbys, a swag bag worth $250 of free railroad goodies, and of course this consist has to run at least 10 times a day. And with 100% priority over any other movement on the railroad including freight, low life passenger trains, MOW, etc. And any service difficulty no matter how small, such as a garbage can that is full or a window that has a speck of dirt, is handled by none other than the railroad's CEO and President, and the Board of Directors, whose entire salary is based upon the cleanliness of this train to the point that the foamers can eat off the floor in the lavatory after it's been used.
