I recently went into a big box home improvement store and found some fence posts for sale. The U-style metal kind that you can use for temporary fencing, gardens, keeping chickens in your yard, etc.
Made in China.
Never mind, there was a steel mill located just three miles away that makes the identical product.
Going back to lumber, there's a sawmill 25 miles away that produces 2x4s, but of course same said Big Box Home Improvement store didn't carry that brand or supplier, either.
