California passed the 2020 law that was suppose to make owner/operators illegal in the state, They got a repreve, but its expiring.
Rumors were railroads were enlarging terminals outside the state and would transport trailers to/from those terminals so the banned truckers could pick them up there.
Another big issue is the CARB rule that bans all pre-2010 tractors from the state and other pollution, taxes, fees and the electric truck proposal make it even harder.
And if Kamala becomes President she wants these owner/operator laws nationwide.
Which means far far more trailers would have to go by rails.
Or more exempt owner/operators from Mexico and Canada would be moving trailers in the US.
