Here's the photo the two of you were referring to, taken on APR 18, 1982. FORTY-TWO YEARS AGO! Where did the time go? The station sign, made to ATSF standards, has been replaced by a smaller steel sign, made to BNSF standards.

The cropped close up photo was taken JUL 07, 2017 at the UP station in Riverside that has been converted into a restaurant---or was at the time. It may be closed now. My daughter and I, plus Glen and Tom McQuillan (a friend of Glen's he met while working at the Amtrak res bureau), made a mid-day round-trip on the Perris Valley Line to "log the mileage", and during the short layover we walked over there to purchase some over-priced soft drinks.
