My great uncle was a VP for UP doing the gas pipelines up in Rock Springs in the 60's, who would ride the City back and forth from LA a couple of times a month, for about 3 years or so He shot miles of home movies of the train, and miles of gas pipelines, and gas pipelines with elk... The train footage was the part that I preferred. When they discontinued the City, he bought the whole bar set from the club car, which my second cousin hopefully still has...
I still have the 1969 Centennial commemorative swizzle sticks that UP had made up from the trip up to Promontory Point for the big shindig. The quality of service on UP was, for all of that expense, one of the best of that era.
