SEPTA's 50-Line ran from Northeast Philly to the far South end of the City. On the way it passed thru the City Center and Independence Hall. The charming SEPTA board (which makes the BART board sound like the epitome of genius) shut the line down "temporarily" in 1980 but ripping up sections of track made the end permanent in 1985.
Car #2271 (Originally Kansas City Public Service #777) is inbound thru the upscale neighborhoods of 4th St. near Erie in May of 1976. At the time,it was wearing a bicentennial paint scheme and named for Rhode Island. The 1946 product of St. Louis Car would be sold to Vintage Electric Streecar Co.
