Yeah, I have been in the same position as others who have posted here. I've been flamed pretty good at such boards as the Dead Goat Saloon and the Narrow Gauge Discussion forum for telling the truth about the machinations of members of the so-called "Freinds of the C&TSRR".
Recently, the FRA inspected the C&TS and found it in pretty good shape--and I gave praise to the employees who did that. I was ignored. I felt that monies given by the taxpayers were being wasted by the "Friends" management companies and said so. I felt that the railroad should be self-supporting, and it can be-given a chance. Before 2000, the average state payments were about $67,500, after the "Friends" came and took over-state payments went up to about $8,000,000.
For that, the attacks came hot and heavy.
This is the best railroad oriented board on the net-hands down!
