If you need anyone else besides Coleman or David Epling to be on your big self-important S-Lists, just add me to them also. I volunteer!
Actually, I've been a "Foamer" all my life (since I could walk) - even went to work in the industry because I believed in it. The term "Foamer" is a bit silly; but then there are those that actually do "Froth" uncontrollably over almost everything. As for myself, I am hoping this forum remains a "Forum"; and does not degenerate into the "Personal Attack Channel" as has other forums, such as trains.com's.
So you think that Railroaders don't like "Foamers"?
Don't kid yourself! Any business that wants to stay in business must recruit people who truely believe in it. This is especially true of railroads, or any other very mature industry. Devoted employees are univerally recognized as big assets. What isn't tolerated well in industry circles are those who are unbusinesslike about it, or childish or self-important; rather than being truely "Devoted" to their life's passions in a productive way.
For that matter, frothing at the mouth isn't tolerated well by most "Railfans" either. Personal attacks have no place here. After all, railfanning is a hobby - its supposed to be fun!
It is fun!
