UP is using an SD9043 on its Modoc train? It seems like an awful lot of locomotive for what is essentially a branch line operation.

Wasn't the lead locomotive on the UP local involved in the Chatsworth collision last September also an SD9043?

You would think that UP would use smaller road-switchers on these runs.
