Seems like when we visited that area last year I heard there was a quarry operation to the west of Twin Bridges that was shipping and that was as far West as the line was open which would explain the shiny rail if I am correct. Other thing was I heard a funny story regarding the last movement to Alder. The story was that the line was out of service before MRL took over. Somehow a car got routed down the dormant line to Alder or a point on that end by mistake. A new MRL crew not aware of status of the line delivered the car to it's destination despite having to take down neighbors fences where they were grazing the ROW and clean a bunch of crossings. To retrieve the car MRL sent a high rail truck to tow the car out! Might have the facts fractured, but it was kind of amusing as told.
