California Intercity Train Cuts

Per an earlier thread which asked this question. On a conference call at a meeting I attended yesterday, Caltrans Divison of Rail staff confirmed that the Governor has requested plans for an across the board 15% cut in operations. Caltrans has informed all of the California intercity rail corridor agencies of this request, and likelihood of these cuts affecting train operations by the September schedule.

Ironically Caltrans Division of Rail is in the process to accepting all of the pre-applications for ARRA High Speed and Intercity Rail funding due to be submitted to FRA on July 10, 2009. So far they had 61 California projects, as of yesterday.
