From a very reliable source---The remaining run of the Fun Train scheduled to depart Emeryville on March 23rd has been cancelled. Amtrak posted notification that the job had been abolished. Several of the trains had been cancelled earlier due to low patronage and one Snow Train was cancelled due to snow problems on the hill.

The Fun Train sceduled out on the 16th was cancelled due to the fire and I am sure the same reason was used on the last one. Given the poor economic performance, I am afraid it is entirely possible that last Thursdays Westbound Snow Train (which got across the soon to be burned bridge about an hour and half before the fire) may be the last ever of the long running seasonal train.

Whatever the reason, Indian gaming, bad weather, the UP, or just bad luck, it will be sad to see such a long time operation, it dates back to the early 60's, come to an end.
