Bartd doesn't use solid wheels, rather they have aluminum centers with steel tires. The tire threads on the aluminum center very loosely, and the thread gaps are injected with an elastomer. This makes it a resilient wheel -- perhaps not quite as resilient as TRC standard-resilient, TRC super-resilient, or Bochum wheels, but it's not solid like those on railroads.
