The problem with jailing people is we don't have enough room, because along with the businessmen and politicians we need to include the voters who made stupid choices for the wrong reasons and investors (the little guys) who had totally unrealistic expectations that had to be met. And don't just blame the lenders, in a lot of cases it was poor judgement by the borrowers as well. A lot of businesses are failing because they overleveraged....stupid bank, stupid borrower. The little guys can be just as greedy as the big guys. Not too many heros here.
In terms of creating jobs, maybe the best use of the stimulous money is to built more jails for all these idiots.
But then......it may be difficult to find a judge and jury without their their hand in the til somewhere along the line.
