We do not need long distance high speed rail simply because the distances are too great. Grab a map and compare London to Istanbul to LA - New York. We need to improve high density corridors
where air travel is slowed by congested terminals and slow local ground travel. I'm not sure that
LA - SF makes real sense but San Diego to LA does. Try and concentrate on business corridors such
as the Boston, New York to Washington corridor. Just because someone can dream something doesn't
make it necessary or sensible.
