Another place I like to watch trains downtown is along the waterfront north of the downtown tunnel portal. At the corner of Alaskan Way and Broad Street, right on Elliott Bay, is a sculpture park which has a bridge over the tracks, there are some good photo possibilities. Also at that corner is a Spaghetti Factory resturant with some tables in the back with windows looking out at the tracks (along with a trolley in the dining room of course). A pleasant dinner at one of those tables between 4:00pm and about 5:40pm will have 4 Sounder commuter trains, the Amtrak Empire Builder and ususally at least 1 freight move rolling by.
