Agreed; when the new line went into service, the new station and platform were awaiting business.

The former mainline was kept; allowing access to apple packing plants, and as secure parking for the line crew's motorcar / a former branch line doodlebug (full length work platform). This right-of-way can be found.

There are ghosts of GN's generating station back in the US 2 canyon.
