Rumor mill has been churning for a couple of years now that the STMA is for sale. Many believe that Potlach corp. is winding down as well. It converted to a land managment corp several years ago which restricts the amount of investment the corp. can spend on production. Paper and lumber mill in Lewiston already spun off as a stand alone company that has to buy it's timber supplies from its former parent company.
