I doubt that very much wine out of Napa and Sonoma Counties moves by rail. Wine is a perishable product and I would never buy wine that was delivered by rail. It gets too hot and cold and affects the taste. The majority of wine shipped in boxcars by rail is from the giant producers in the central valley, Gallo, ect. The kind of stuff you find in the grocery store for under $10 a bottle.
Of course, some of the better stuff does travel TOFC by rail, but that is trucked to Richmond or Oakland and loaded on a class 1 railroad. I will be very surprised if NWP ever moves any wine. However, there might be an opportunity for inbound loads of bottles and packing materials, but I suspect that it will be hard to wrestle that traffic away from trucks.
