NP 1752 with logs, Aberdeen WA 1952

As I got to know the various railroaders, while riding with dad, usually up in the cupola of a wood caboose, many realized I was very serious about preserving photos of the NP. Tom Miller, an engineer, was one, and another photographer. He was a bit gadget happy, and had many expensive cameras ranging from 35mm through 5x7, including a Hasselblad, many Nikons, etc. He left his collection of Railroad negatives and slides to me! This photo is an early 35mm color slide of his, taken with an Exakta camera.

Transfer job bringing in more logs to feed the many mills in the Hoquiam Aberdeen area. W-3 class mikes were the most numerous of the 2-8-2's on the NP and were the real workhorses of the system.
