Conductor Thompson

Conductor Thompson in the cupola of the "Gate Local's" caboose, with the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in the background. This is after the merger so in a BN caboose, May 1976. I rode with him this day, and also had a tape recorder with me. The point line was still jointed track, so I got a nice recording of the sounds, at track speed, you just don't hear this any more! I also recorded the GP-9's switching in the yard at Olympia, a great memory!
