UP got trackage rights on the NP from Vancouver to Reservation in the early 1900s; don't recall the year.

I think it was part of a general "peace" settlement in the northwest that included the Oregon Trunk, various lines in the Palouse region, and maybe the Camas Prarie.

MILW didn't get to Portland until the BN merger when they got rights on BN from someplace around Chehalis south. They still had to use their own junk line south out of Tacoma.
