This indeed is a common carrier operation run by the same good folks over at Pier 80 "AKA dirty Dirt" transfer facility in SF. Alsthom Manufacturing won the bid to refurbish 66 Amtrak Capitol Corridor Cars and they are leasing a building directly off the Mare Island Bridge. The Railroad is soliciting other business on the Island and both inbound and outbound traffic. The will be getting their own locomotive but for the first train today, the "borrowed" one of Cal Northerns GP-15T.
