If this were a private venture it would have died years ago, I just shake my head when I read this
stuff. Where is the reality of any of this? You've got a dead harbor with little prospect for new
traffic, a rail line that serves maybe one shipper who'd use the harbor yet these people act like
someone's killing the lifeline to prosperity. The best bet for any traffic would be indeed to lease the line around the bay to the Heritage Group but there's so many anti-tourist people in
Arcata that even that wouldn't be a sure thing. Guess I'll conclude by saying that some people
deserve themselves.
