This morning while driving up Powell/Stanford St in Oakland/Emeryville, I noticed a few remains of evidence of train service far removed from the nearest active train tracks. I don't know if the tracks are of Key System or SP heritage, but I am sure someone as knowledgable as Mr. Key Route Ken can maybe let us know and provide a picture of "THEN" when the rails were active.
As luck would have it my travels today took me to lots of places in the Oakland area that still contain pieces of history when the area was once serviced by the Key System or SP. I will post those shots too and maybe we can get some information on their history too.
Please forgive the quality of the shots they were taken with an iPhone on the fly, since I didn't have time to stop a frame a perfect picture. If however anyone out there would like me to take some specific "NOW" shots of Key System landmarks still standing please let me know and I will bring a proper camera with me over the next few weeks.
Thank you to all that provide answers to these postings.
