Does mook or Carol remember Beckstrom's market on the right hand side of the road going up
toward Steven's Creek Dam? I went to school with their kids, Ralph and Wanda.

As to the tracks that were mentioned, that would have been the Los Altos Branch. The
section south (railroad west) of Simla was torn up in the early 60's. It connected with
the main down at California Avenue. Some of the ballast used there had come from the
debris from the San Francisco '06 earthquake. My Dad showed me broken pieces of old china
mixed with the rock around Neal when he & I hiked the line once.
