Whatever this product is, it comes in covered hoppers, most of them lettered "VeraSun Energy." To me, that sounds like corn for ethanol, but I suppose the cars could easily be used for other purposes. At times, I've seen 25 or more of these cars at once. Since the former ATSF Wood Street yard was reduced to just a couple of tracks some years ago, it can get very crowded. Sometimes, the BNSF local puts the excess in the UP Emeryville yard. Anyway, it's good to see the Oakland Terminal hanging in there.
