John, yes, Almanor did get a second unit, maybe six or seven years ago now? At any rate, it was not too long before they shut down. The #166 was really showing her age and could only handle one load at a time, which sent Collins into the used locomotive market. The replacement locomotive was another GE 70-tonner, painted silver. I don't remember off hand its liniage, but immediately prior to going to Chester it had been on the Pend Orielle Valley and belonged to the locomotive and equipment dealer/rebuilder that has facilities on the POVA (Western Rail???). It arrived in Chester on a flatcar. There were some pretty good pictures, probably on Trainorders, of the #166 pulling the new unit on the flat back to Chester for unloading and then some more of its first few trips.
But I guess it really doesn't matter anymore.
