I have a question related to these interesting posts . With the UP merger and the Cal-p line available what dictates why a train is routed Alamont pass today ? Do any trains run as though they were on ex WP only anymore Feather river to Oakland via Altamont? Is the ex WP line broken up and just used in pieces? Sometimes I hear on the radio the daily traffic report, noting

the ACE train is running behind schedule due to slow freight trains on Altamont ??
