This may be a good thing, we will finally see if Amtrak returns for bad product [GE] which has a high failure rate with great gas millage; or trade millage for relibility from MPI or EMC.

As far as the cars go, maybe they should look towards Captiol Corridor or Surfliners as a starting point, both designs are well suited to the long distance market and are very well received by the patrons.
