Whats worng with taking an off the shelf freight unit, IE an ES series, dropping a HEP plant into it, high gear the TMs, and put some AC equipment into it. Basically a modern version of the Dash 8s they got. Pretty, no. Practical, yes. Bunch of off the shelf units already tried and trued in freight service. Think AKRR HEP equipped SD70s.
