As a kid, I used to talk my parents into driving me to the Saratoga Ave crossing, and indeed, there were definitely Trainmasters on the commute. I remember the old passenger shelter there (see "Prune Country Railroads"). The train would stop just northe of the crossing to deboard in the evening, during the winter months the mars lights were quite imposing as it cruised through the orchards.
