Train scene from "McCloud"?

I have a vague memory from the 1970s of seeing a TV show starring Dennis Weaver. I think it might have been an episode of "McCloud" or possibly a movie. It opens with him traveling in a train through wintry mountain conditions. I believe the story was set in Montana or possibly Oregon.
Anyone remember the show or the railroad on which it was filmed?
